The City Clerk is the City's Custodian of the City’s Official Records with the duty to preserve, maintain, and protect all vital documents certifying legislative actions per local and state regulations.

The City of Vacaville supports the public's right to access the public records created and preserved by the City in the normal course of business. The City strives to provide service in a transparent manner, including timely access to requested records in accordance with the California Public Records Act (Government Code §7922.000 et seq.). The Act does not require the City to provide information, answer questions or create records that do not exist.
