Pursuant to Government Code §7922.000 et seq, the City shall, within 10 days from the receipt of request, notify the requestor if the City has made a determination whether the request has any exemption from disclosure or if there is a delay in providing the information and when it will be made available. Requests that are not exempt from disclosure that require research, retrieval, and reproduction will be provided at the earliest date possible. 

Under unusual circumstances, the City may extend the 10-day response time for an additional fourteen (14) days by written notice to the requestor, setting forth the reason for the time extension as defined in Government Code §7922.000 et seq. If the request is submitted after 5:30 p.m., on a Friday closure, on the weekend or on a holiday, the date received is the next business day.

Records available for review and/or copies of records requested will be available for ten (10) days after notification of their availability. If you are unable to pick-up or view your records during this time period, notification is required, or your request will be considered fulfilled and a new request must be made.

The City Clerk’s Office will require exact payment in advance for all duplication, cost of postage or other reproduction services prior to the release of records. Payment may be made either in cash or by check payable to the “City of Vacaville.”

Duplication fees are $0.25 per page; $3.00 per plan sheet, blueline or map. If the documents requested exceed 20 pages, a deposit may be requested. The records will be provided electronically when possible.
