The City of Vacaville has two advisory groups that serve the City Council. These commissions are composed of residents appointed by the Council for staggered two-year terms. Most of the actions taken by a commission are recommendations to the City Council for further consideration.
Following a November 9, 2021 City Council presentation seeking feedback from the City Council and the public, the Vacaville City Council adopted Resolution No. 2021-116 Commission Appointment Policy on December 14, 2021. The action primarily came about due to the recent transition from at-large to district based elections.
The City Council of the City of Vacaville appoints residents to the positions which will expire or otherwise become vacant. Commissioners must be 18 years or older and residents within Vacaville city limits. The appointment list is posted in compliance with the requirements of the Maddy Act (Government Code §54970, et seq.). The names on this list are subject to change based on resignations or terminations that occur during the year.
