Move-to-Work
Vacaville Housing Authority MTW (Move To Work)
On January 27, 2022, VHA was selected for admission to the Landlord Incentives Cohort #4 of the Moving to Work (MTW) Demonstration Program. The MTW program will allow certain exemptions from existing Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program rules, as approved by HUD with the overall goal to:
- Reduce cost and achieve greater cost effectiveness in federal expenditures;
- Give incentives to families with children where the head of household is working; is seeking work; or is preparing for work by participating in job training, educational programs, or programs that assist people to obtain employment and become economically self-sufficient; and
- Increase housing choices for eligible low-income families.
As part of the application process, the VHA held two virtual public meetings to seek community and participant input on the local strategies the SCHA will implement to support MTW goals.
VHA must submit an MTW Supplemental Plan annually to HUD. The public comment period will be open February 9 – March 25, 2024. You can submit your comments to the VHA in the following ways:

Autoridad de Vivienda de Vacaville MTW (Muévete al Trabajo)
El 27 de enero de 2022, VHA fue seleccionada para la admisión a la cohorte # 4 de incentivos para propietarios del programa de demostración Moving to Work (MTW). El programa MTW permitirá ciertas exenciones de las reglas existentes del programa de Vales de Elección de Vivienda (HCV), según lo aprobado por HUD con el objetivo general de:
- Reducir costos y lograr una mayor rentabilidad en los gastos federales;
- Dar incentivos a las familias con niños donde trabaja el cabeza de familia; está buscando trabajo; o se está preparando para trabajar participando en capacitación laboral, programas educativos o programas que ayudan a las personas a obtener empleo y volverse económicamente autosuficientes; y
- Aumentar las opciones de vivienda para familias elegibles de bajos ingresos.
Como parte del proceso de solicitud, la VHA celebró dos reuniones públicas virtuales para buscar opiniones de la comunidad y los participantes sobre las estrategias locales que la SCHA implementará para apoyar los objetivos del MTW.
