The Office of Environmental Sustainability and Energy is responsible for the implementation of the City's sustainability initiatives, projects, and programs, including energy savings capital projects, Solid Waste and Recycling programs, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

City of Vacaville ‘Driving on Sunshine’ Solar EV Chargers

The City of Vacaville is proud to announce the installation of three Beam EV ARC™ solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Two units have been installed in Town Square, and one at City Hall. The charging stations, which feature ChargePoint network chargers currently available for public use at no cost, are part of Vacaville’s ongoing commitment to enhance clean vehicle infrastructure and promote sustainable transportation solutions.

The project was funded through a combination of grants, including $104,536 in Clean Air Funds from the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, and a $250,000 grant from the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) as part of the California Budget Act of 2022, which allocated funds to improve EV infrastructure across Solano County.
