    The Traffic Engineering Division's primary focus is maintaining and enhancing traffic operations, traffic safety and multimodal mobility for our citizens and customers. The Division has several unique business lines and is responsible for traffic operations, design, managements, studies, entitlements, investigation, traffic signs and markings, and traffic signals and street lighting. Traffic Engineering staff manages many projects such as transportation studies for new development areas and controlling the traffic operations center. The team works with residents, consultants, contractors, and other City staff to address a wide variety of traffic and transportation issues or projects. 

    The maintenance functions of traffic signals and street lighting ranges from new installations to repairing knocked downs, preventative maintenance, making repairs and updating equipment. Additionally, Traffic Engineering provides guidance to field staff responsible for the installation of various regulatory/warning/guide signs, striping/markings, and other related traffic control devices. 

    To report streetlights or traffic signals that are out, missing/knocked down street signs, or other repairs needed, you can call Public Works Maintenance at 707-469-6500.
