HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR WATER USAGE

Water Consumption in Units

Your water consumption is measured, read and billed in units, which are equal to 100 cubic feet (cc), or 748 gallons, of water. Your water meter is read approximately every 2 months. If you were to consume 42 units, or 33,300 gallons, from July 9 to September 2, that would average out to approximately 595 gallons used per day in your household.

You can measure your water consumption in one of three ways:

Your utility bill includes your meter (fixed) fee and consumption (actual usage) charge, as well as shows the period for which you are billed, and will show you how much water you've used, in units, per billing cycle for the last year. Take a look at the sample bill below which breakdowns each component of the bill.
