COVID SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM

On November 7, 2022, the City of Vacaville opened applications for the COVID Small Business Assistance Grant Program. The Vacaville City Council allocated $1 million (increasing the amount earlier this year) of its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). ARPA funds were provided by the Federal government to help with COVID-19 local recovery.

The grant was designed to keep businesses operational, assisting those in Vacaville who have sustained financial hardships caused or exacerbated by COVID-19 related mandates and are struggling the most to recover from the pandemic.

On March 9, the City began mailing checks to the 47 small businesses selected via a lottery. Grant funding totaled $1,037,063, with an average award amount of $22,065.17, and individual awards ranging from $7,400 to $25,000 per recipient.
