The City of Vacaville's COVID-19 Economic Recovery Strategy is intended to implement short-term and long-term strategies to lessen the impacts of COVID-19 and create a strategic focus by understanding the impact to the City’s Economic Centers that drive economic activity.

With this information, actions are based on three business drivers: Traded Sector, Local Serving and Visitor Oriented. This Strategy also includes action items from the City Council Strategic Plan, and the Biotech and Advanced Manufacturing Initiatives.  A full economic recovery is not expected until the year 2024.

Specific actions in the plan include developing and managing a "Shop Local" campaign; solidifying a consistent business outreach program for locally-serving businesses; implementation of a Main Street Program; continuation of the implementation of the biotech and advanced manufacturing initiatives; and launching a manufacturing retention program focused on existing industry and their current issues.
